Ideal Process for Purchasing Step-Up Instruments:


1) Inform Directors and Lesson Teachers of interest in purchasing a step-up instrument.


2) Print Approved Instrument List & Guidelines from website.


3) Contact music store for instrument purchase options. 


    - While you do have several options when purchasing an instrument, Music and Arts is the approved

      L.I.S.D. Music Dealer and does offers price matching.

    - Make sure to bring Downing Instrument List & Guidelines with you to the music store


4) Complete financial contract with music store.


5a) Music store representative will deliver several instrument choices to Downing for directors or lesson teachers to try out.  They will hand select your instrument for you to make certain you get the absolute best instrument for your money.


5b) Meet your lesson teacher at the music store to try out several different instruments.  Lesson teachers might be willing to do this.  Their opinion is golden with regard to purchasing new instruments.


Student goes home with new instrument and practices like crazy!!!
